This is your last year here at St. Edward - Let's make it a great one!
Our first quarter focus will be on Nouns and Pronouns. During second quarter, we will learn about Verbs and something you've never learned about before - Verbals! Third quarter focuses on the rest of the 8 parts of speech - Adjectives, Adverbs, Prepositions, Conjunctions, and Interjections. Finally, fourth quarter we will learn about Sentences and Punctuation. During the year, we will write in a vairety of forms, including Personal Narratives, Letters of Application, Research Papers, and a few different creative pieces. Stay tuned!

I'm so happy to teach the 6th grade! Our writing focus this year will be the Personal Narrative, although we will be writing in some other genres as well. Our grammar forcus for first quarter will be Nouns. In second quarter, we will learn about Punctuation, Pronouns, and Adjectives. Thurday quarter will be all about Verbs, and trust me, there is a LOT to learn about Verbs. Fourth quarter will include lessons on Adverbs, Prepositions, Conjunctions, and Interjections. It's going to be an exciting year!

Welcome to Middle School, 5th Grade! I'm so happy to meet you and be your English teacher this year. During the first quarter, we will be learning all about Nouns. Second quarter we will focus on the parts of Sentences. It's going to be all about Verbs and Adverbs in third quarter, and in fourth quarter, we will learn about Adjectives and Pronouns.  We're going to play around with some different kinds of writing, but our writing focus in 5th grade is the Persuasive Essay, where you get to convince your readers that YOUR opinion is the right one. Who doesn't have fun doing that? Let's have a great year, 5th graders!
